Who we are

Amperlo is operated by FXRM Services Ltd ("we", "us"), company number 16676788, registered at 6 Hamm Beach Road, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1DX, United Kingdom. This policy covers the Amperlo web application at amperlo.com. Our blog at blog.amperlo.com has its own, separate privacy policy covering comments and cookies on that site.

Questions about this policy, or about any personal data we hold, can be sent to support@amperlo.com.

What we collect

AI receipt parsing

When you upload or forward a receipt, its contents (image, PDF, or email text) are sent to a third-party AI provider — currently Anthropic (Claude) or OpenRouter, depending on configuration — to extract the charge amount, kWh, network, VAT and similar details automatically. This is a paid-plan feature. These providers process the receipt content to return the extracted data; we don't use them to build advertising profiles, and the receipt content isn't used by us for anything beyond logging your session. Because these providers are based outside the UK/EEA, this involves an international transfer of that receipt data, made under their own standard contractual safeguards.

If you'd rather not use this feature, every field it fills in can also be entered manually.

Email receipt forwarding

Paid plans get a dedicated forwarding address per vehicle. Emails sent to that address are retrieved over IMAP, and any receipt found is processed the same way as an uploaded one. We only read mail sent to your specific forwarding address, not your wider inbox.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Cookies

Amperlo uses session and authentication cookies to keep you logged in and your preferences (units, currency, language, cost-view mode) remembered between visits. These are functional, not tracking or advertising cookies.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and logged data for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period in encrypted backups afterwards for disaster-recovery purposes. If you delete your account, your data is removed; backup copies age out on our normal backup rotation schedule rather than being purged instantly.

Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

If you're in the UK or EU, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email support@amperlo.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU data protection authority.

Children

Amperlo is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, where the change is significant, email you directly.
